Student Testing

AP College Board Testing

Our school utilizes the College Board's Advanced Placement (AP) program to offer college-level courses and exams to qualified students. This program allows motivated high schoolers to tackle challenging material and potentially earn college credit or advanced placement in college courses. The AP exams are typically given to students in grades 11 and 12, depending on the specific course and the student's readiness. We'll be providing more information about the AP program and how it functions within our school curriculum throughout this orientation.

NWEA MAP Test

You can find MAP Reports for individual students after the test in the shared drive "NWEA Map | St. Paul" a link will be shared with teachers after the testing window has closed.

Our school implements the NWEA MAP Growth assessment to measure student growth and achievement in core subjects. Unlike AP exams focused on high schoolers, the MAP Growth test is designed for students in grades 2 through 10th grade. This computer-adaptive test personalizes the difficulty level to each student, providing valuable data to educators about individual strengths and areas for improvement. We administer the MAP test twice a year. Once in the Fall and again in the Spring so that we can measure student progress.

WIDA Test

To support our English Language Learner (ELL) population, our school uses the WIDA assessment system. This framework helps us measure and develop the English language proficiency of our ELL students from Kindergarten through 12th grade. WIDA doesn't focus on a single test, but offers a range of tools to assess a student's abilities in listening, speaking, reading, and writing across various academic subjects. During this orientation, we'll explore how WIDA informs our instruction and ensures all students can thrive in our learning environment.
